ABOUT

Welcome to the official site of the Khmu National Federation (KNF) Inc. We are glad you found us, and we invite you to explore our work, our history, and our commitment to nurturing and preserving the culture, heritage, and customs of the Khmu people.

My name is Tracie Chulaparn Friedman, and I have had the honor of serving as President of KNF from December 2019 to December 2024. Currently, I am a Co-Executive Director along with my colleague Judy Khoutsavanh. I am proud to be the first woman President in KNF history and to represent Khmu communities across the United States. I am committed to listening to our people, leading with heart, and continuing the legacy built by past KNF Presidents, Senior Advisers, and Community Leaders.

As we move into a new decade, KNF is prioritizing four key areas to pave the way for future generations:

  1. Cultural Preservation
  2. Higher Education
  3. Building Leadership
  4. Creating Sustainability for the future of KNF

KNF is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based in the Bay Area, California. Our Board of Directors, Senior Advisers, and Regional Representatives work together with local Khmu Associations (Samakhoms) across the country—including California (Santa Ana/OC, Stockton, Fresno), Washington, Arizona, Texas, Oklahoma, and the East Coast (Boston region). Each Samakhom has its own leadership and programs, but all are connected through KNF’s shared mission: to support, share resources, and guide cultural preservation efforts for Khmu communities nationwide.
